2002-01-10 Official Press release on Michael's Grammy nomination
Today Michael's PR company issued the following Press Release on Michael's Grammy nomination:
The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences announced on Friday, January 4th that "You Rock My World" from Michael Jackson's current Epic Records album Invincible was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category. This nomination is the latest in a long line of nominations over Michael's illustrious career that has resulted in 16 Grammy Awards. In 1993 Michael received the Legend Award from NARAS and in 1984 he set the record for most wins in one night (eight) for his record-breaking album Thriller that contained a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
Michael Jackson is the biggest selling recording artist of all time. He has sold over one hundred million albums worldwide and his album Thriller remains the number one selling album ever with 51 million albums sold. His latest album, Invincible debuted at number 1 around the world in 13 countries (It will be eligible for a Grammy nomination next year). His CBS television special that aired on November 13th had such high ratings (25.73 million viewers), the network re-aired it on Wednesday, January 9th.
Michael Jackson's history as a recording artist is a series of triumphs, beginning with his days in The Jackson 5 and leading to his current, remarkable run on Epic Records starting with Off The Wall, (which contained 4 Top 10 singles and went 7x platinum in the US); Thriller, (with an astonishing 7 Top 10 singles and went 26x platinum in the US), Bad, (which included five number 1 hits went 8x platinum in the US); and Dangerous (7x platinum in the US).

2002-01-09 You Rock My World make a dramatic comeback
YOU ROCK MY WORLD SET TO RE-ENTER UK CHARTS
In an astonishing turn of events, Michael Jackson's "You Rock My World" is heading for a triumphant RETURN to the Top 30, possibly even Top 20, re-entry in Sunday's official singles chart.
The single originally debuted at No.2 upon its release three months ago.
As of Wednesday morning, "You Rock My World" (the first single from Invincible) was the 21st best selling single in the country this week. If sales continue to amass in this way, it is conceivable that the song could break inside the Top 20 on Sunday.
So now is the time to buy that 12" vinyl version (7" does not count to charts) or that extra CD you always meant to buy.
In last Sunday's Chart, "YRMW" had already started its incredible come-back, climbing nine places from No. 53 to No. 44 in its 13th week in the Top 75.

2002-01-08 MJNI Exclusive: Worldwide Sales of Invincible
One of the most frequent inquiries from fans with regards to Michael's Invincible project is how many copies the album has sold to date.
MJNI can report that as of the week ending December 28, 2001, Invincible's worldwide sales figures stood at 5.36 million, including 1.97 million in America. These numbers reflect actual sales, versus quantities that have been shipped to retail stores across the globe - estimated at between 6-7 million.
In many countries outside North America and Europe, shipments of CDs are automatically counted as sales because there are no arrangements with Sony for the return of unsold product.
The obvious next question: "Is 5.36 million copies good or bad?"The answer depends on who you ask. The truth is, the two-month worldwide tally trails behind HIStory, Dangerous and Bad as MJ's fastest selling albums. However, Invincible is current outselling HIStory in the US and is expected to eventually out-sell the 1995 double album in that country.
Sony and Michael currently have hopes to release 3 more singles from the album that should take us through Christmas of 2002. After Butterflies/Cry, Unbreakable will hit - along with an accompanying short film. Other singles under consideration include Whatever Happens (Invincible's most praised track by US critics), Speechless, Threatened and Don't Walk Away.
A summer tour is also a possibility so its very likely that 2002 will bring millions of more record buyers into the stores, all eager to get their hands on Invincible.
Look for regular sales updates from MJNI.
